Akane Kumagai

Akane is a multi-racial, multi-lingual (Japanese, Spanish, and English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field for over 17 years. She provides a unique, welcoming, non-judgmental and inclusive space to clients and colleagues. Akane has expertise in HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, workplace sexual harassment and wage theft, multi-generational issues and AAPI discrimination. She has also worked in Japan and Ecuador and has a passion for intercultural exchange. Akane uses an anti-oppression and feminist approach, and creates an empathic and informed space to process clients' thoughts and feelings around the issues and challenges affecting them most.
