
Ailin Chang, L.S.W.
Ailin Chang is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and a Mental Health Counselor and Program Manager at MAHA. She earned her Master’s in Social Work at Loyola University of Chicago (2018–2020) with a specialization in Children and Family and a sub-specialization in Mental Health. She holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social and Human Services from the University of Evansville (2013–2017).
Ailin works primarily with adults, caregivers, families, and older adults, with a strong focus on Asian immigrant communities. She brings a deep understanding of cultural values, family roles, and intergenerational dynamics that shape everyday life and relationships. Having been born and raised in China and lived in the United States for over a decade, Ailin has developed strong multicultural sensitivity and a culturally responsive approach in her work.
Ailin supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, coping challenges, and life transitions. She works closely with caregivers and families to strengthen emotional resilience, improve communication, and navigate challenges in a more connected and supportive way. Her clinical work is grounded in a client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach. She integrates evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral strategies and mindfulness techniques to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns.
Ailin has extensive experience in community mental health, program development, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has led numerous workshops and support groups focused on mental health awareness, stress management, trauma-informed care, and family relationships. Her work is driven by a commitment to reducing mental health stigma and increasing access to culturally and linguistically responsive care for underserved communities. Clients often experience her as calm, thoughtful, and engaging, as she balances deep listening with practical guidance to support meaningful and sustainable growth.
