Quan (Anna) Yuan, LSW

Since Quan (Anna) Yuan decided to study Social Work in higher education a few years ago, she has wanted to address social injustice and support marginalized populations. Right after Quan obtained a Master of Social Work from Temple University in Pennsylvania, she moved to Chicago to join the Mental Health Consultant team at the Midwest Asian Health Association. Quan is a case manager and licensed social worker, and she’s able to provide services for culturally diverse populations with her language skills in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Quan is aware of obstacles that prevent marginalized populations from accessing the social welfare system, especially new immigrants with language barriers. She has utilized her clinical social work skills to address issues that perplex people with critical mental health conditions, such as family relationships, self-consciousness, employment, and medical insurance. Quan also practices Trauma-Informed Care techniques to identify the impact of trauma and adverse life experiences to clients and intervene with evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Quan engages in a diverse set of pastimes that contribute to her self-care, such as swimming, singing, and volunteering. With gratitude for her own journey, she continues to advocate for social justice and people’s well-being.
