MAHA's Community Mental Health Clinic Overview

The Midwest Asian Health Association’s Community Mental Health Clinic (CMHC) was established in 2015 with the vision of providing linguistically appropriate, culturally sensitive, and financially affordable mental health services to underserved communities in the Chicagoland area. In alignment with MAHA’s broader mission to reduce health disparities for medically underserved, low-income populations in the Midwest, the CMHC prioritizes individuals and families facing language, cultural, and financial barriers to care. The counselors and staff are dedicated to fostering a Chicago and greater Illinois community in which all individuals, regardless of language, cultural background, immigration status, or ability to pay, can access high-quality mental health services to improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Our staff of licensed mental health professionals are able to provide services in English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese Chinese, and are experienced working with youth, adolescents, adults, and elders. We offer individual therapy, family therapy, school consultations, and mental health seminars. Clients reach out to us for therapy to discuss topics such as family or marital conflicts, traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, acculturation difficulties, stress management, and other concerns.

Our services are covered by Medicaid, Medicaid MCOs (Aetna Better Health, Blue Cross Community Health Plan, Meridian, and Molina), County Care, and other commercial insurances. We also have the option of self-pay sliding scale fees. Contact the office if you have any question.
