COVID Vaccination Data in Chicago
While the rates of vaccinations among the Asian, Non-Latinx population are 7% higher than the rates among all Chicagoans, we still only have 58.9% of the Asian population listed as fully vaccinated (source). Comparatively, only 43.7% of the Latinx population in Chicago are fully vaccinated, and approximately 23 out of every 148 daily cases affect members of the Latinx community (source). Cumulatively, 1,860 Latinx and 259 Asian Chicagoans have lost their lives due to COVID-19 since March 2020.
As new cases are on the rise again this summer (see graph below), it is more important than ever to provide easy, equitable, and culturally sensitive access to vaccines, as well as safety information for the public.
