Established as of June 2025, Midwest Asian Health Association’s In-Home Services program provides non-medical assistance with Activities of Daily Living for older adults to give them the opportunity to age in place at home independently and with dignity.

MAHA is contracted through the Illinois Department on Aging’s Community Care Program. MAHA provides services in the following zip codes:

Services are provided through professional or family home care aides that have completed a background check and 24 hours of pre-service training. Home care aides can assist with the following duties:

  • Feeding
  • Bathing
  • Personal Care
  • Transferring
  • Continence
  • Telephoning
  • Preparing meals
  • Laundry
  • Light housekeeping
  • Conducting errands
  • Escorts to medical appointments
  • Medication reminders
  • Companionship

To be eligible to enroll into the Community Care Program, interested participants must meet the following criteria:

  • 60 years or older
  • Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen within specific categories
  • Be a resident of Illinois
  • Have an assessed need for long-term care
  • Has non-exempt assets of $17,500 or less (home, car, and personal furnishings are considered exempt assets)
  • Be eligible for or enrolled in Medicaid

Interested in becoming a home care aide? We are hiring! We accept family home care aides looking to care for a loved one and be paid for services. Wages begin at $19.50 per hour. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1 year of experience caring for an individual
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete 24 hours of pre-service training or have applicable experience
